"Officers responded to reports of gunfire near West 44th Street and Broadway. Upon arrival, uniform personnel observed a dispute involving a large group of individuals that escalated. A 26-year-old male sustained a slashing wound to the neck during the physical altercation. Shortly thereafter, a 17-year-old male discharged a firearm at the group. A suspect was immediately pursued on foot, apprehended by patrolling officers, and a firearm was recovered. A secondary, connected shooting scene at West 45th Street and Eighth Avenue is currently being processed.
